DAVID KORDA
David is an experienced studio executive, bringing over 30 years of direct industry experience to the FSP Advisory Board. Having worked in virtually all capacities as a production executive, he brings a wealth of valuable front line knowledge to the team. He is currently producing two features that are in development entitled, Small Towns are Murder, and Serendipity Starlight.
David was an Executive Producer for such films as O'Jerusalem (2005-2006), Dungeons and Dragons - the Sequel (2004), Chestnut (2003) and The Great Ceili War (2002).
Prior to this he was the President and CEO of Capella Films, where he was actively involved in the development and production of many feature films including Wolfgang Petersen's Shattered and Two Bits, starring Al Pacino. He was the Executive Producer for the critically acclaimed Island on Bird Street for which he received an Emmy in 1999. He also helped to acquire films for Capella from other major studios including such hits as My Life, starring Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman from Columbia, Nobody's Fool starring Paul Newman from Paramount Pictures and Austin Powers from New Line Cinema. |
Prior to this he functioned as the President of Production for FilmAccord, Inc. and as a Managing Director for RKO Pictures International in London and Los Angeles. While in this position he was an Executive Producer for such major films as Hamburger Hill and Half Moon Street and maintained responsibility for the oversight of all RKO productions being shot in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and the U.K.
Earlier in his career, David worked as a Director for Film Finances, Ltd. in London, where he was a part owner of the company that was the leading completion guaranty company at the time. He was responsible for the assessment and supervision of numerous films on a worldwide basis of all genres and budget sizes, ranging from small European projects to three films that were directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
David was educated at Oxford University in the U.K. and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (executive branch), the British Academy of Film and Television Arts/LA and the Production Guild in the U.K. |
